Brad Smith Motorsports Press Release!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit!
Detroit, Michigan – April 5, 2017

Hylton Motorsports and driver Brad Smith will be working with a local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) to introduce a group of youth to ARCA racing at Fairground Speedway Nashville this weekend for the running of the Music City 200. “I’m excited to be a part of this initiative between ARCA, Fairground Nashville Speedway, BBBS, GM Community Services, and Hylton Motorsports. This is a perfect example of the networking that occurs in the racing community when everyone is working together for a good cause. The winners here will be the kids involved in the local Nashville chapter of BBBS. I’m glad to have the opportunity to introduce them to motorsports and this sport we love so much”, said Smith.
Hylton Motorsports began working with BBBS late last season and the relationship has flourished for the upcoming season. “What started out as myself simply becoming a mentor in the BBBS Metropolitan Detroit group has rapidly expanded into our race team potentially hosting BBBS at six different ARCA races this year. I discussed it with ARCA, who was immediately on board, and things started to really take-off from there. Gotta thank my good friend Rowdy Maglite for all the help he’s given us in making this happen. He told me earlier that he wanted to help and he was certainly true to his word”, quipped Smith.

About Big Brothers Big Sisters: For more than a century, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been helping change kids’ perspectives and giving them the opportunity to reach their potential. And we have more than a century of volunteers, donors, and advocates just like you to thank.
It all started in 1904, when a young New York City court clerk named Ernest Coulter was seeing more and more boys come through his courtroom. He recognized that caring adults could help many of these kids stay out of trouble, and he set out to find volunteers. That marked the beginning of the Big Brothers movement.
At around the same time, the members of a group called Ladies of Charity were befriending girls who had come through the New York Children’s Court. That group would later become Catholic Big Sisters.
Both groups continued to work independently until 1977, when Big Brothers Association and Big Sisters International joined forces and became Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
More than 100 years later, Big Brothers Big Sisters remains true to our founders’ vision of bringing caring role models into the lives of children. And, today, Big Brothers Big Sisters currently operates in all 50 states—and in 12 countries around the world.
