The weekend of May 7th we raced at the Winchester Speedway. The half mile paved oval is one of the fastest half mile race tracts in the country.

Our pit crew this weekend included Jeff as the crew chief, Joyce as the scorer, Boomer-spotter, Smusz-tire changer, Klaus-tire carrier, Wayne-jackman, Brian & John-fuel and Brenda as pit assistant.

The race was a single day event. On Sunday we registered, Brad and Boomer attended the driver’s meeting, we went thru technical inspection and practiced. Practice went very well with fast speeds. After practice we went thru technical inspection again and Brad enjoyed an on track autograph session with his fans.

Then it was off to race.

We started in the 33rd position. During the race there were several wrecks. Due to good luck, great driving and exceptional spotting, we were able to come home with a 22nd place finish.
