Brad Smith Finds Success in Salem!

Salem Speedway – Salem, IN – September 18, 2004

The No. 26 Koolmat.com Ford of Brad Smith returned to the track Saturday night at Salem Speedway, posting their 12th top-20 finish of the 2004 season.

Brad started the race in 30th and made his way up to 16th before he was collected in the last turn of the last lap. He finished the Eddie Gilstrap Motors 200 seven laps down to winner Jason Jarrett.

Brad’s performance Saturday night, coupled with Joe Cooksey’s poor fortune in the event, helped the team in the points department with one race left in the 2004 season.

The Food World 300 at Talladega Superspeedway on October 2 will be Brad’s first trip back to the 2.66-mile track since a qualifying accident last year saw him airlifted to the burn unit of the University of Alabama Medical Center and Paul Menard ended up piloting the No. 26 car to victory lane.

The Food World 300 will be aired live on SPEED at 2pm Eastern.
